Walking Street Pattaya Thailand
Walking Street Pattaya Thailand is part of the city of Pattaya, Thailand. It is a tourist attraction that draws foreigners and Thai nationals, primarily for the nightlife. It is a red-light district with many go-go bars and brothels.
The street runs from the south end of Beach Road to the Bali Hai Pier. A large video sign was erected in March 2010 at the Beach Road entrance, replacing
an earlier metal arch, and a small arch adorns the Bali Hai entrance.
Walking Street is closed to vehicles from 6:00 pm. to 2 am, and car parking is provided at the Bali Hai end. The area includes seafood restaurants, lives music venues, beer bars,
discotheques, sports bars, go-go bars, and nightclubs, and is illuminated at night by many coloured neon signs. The closing time of 2:00 am has been extended for many entertainment establishments.
Walking Street is probably the most famous street (or Soi) in Thailand. It is at the very centre of the night life scene in the city of Pattaya In reality it is probably one of the most exciting streets in the world if you are looking for fun. 1000 metres of bars, gogo bars, restaurants, nightclubs and of course, the hostesses!
Walking street really is a single mans dream paradise and it is has been around for many years, but now it is more popular than ever. If you are a single man and you have never been to Pattaya, you are missing out on some good times. If you are thinking of going by all means go, however can I recommend that you use a travel group that specialises in trips to the bar areas of Pattaya.

If Pattaya is Fun town then this is Fun Street!
It truly offers something for everyone, crazy bars, live music bars, restaurants to suit every taste, even bars full of
lady boys for those that way inclined. Add to the mix the street stalls, souvenir shops,
street entertainers and you can understand why it is one of Thailand’s most popular
tourist attractions. As with the whole of Pattaya, open air beer bars and complexes abound but as of January 2012 there were over fifty enclosed air conditioned bars to allow you to cool down even if they do mean you cannot sit and watch the circus come to town.
Thankfully, Pattaya isn’t just go-go bars and loud music, there are many other alternatives to keep all kinds of night owls happy. Trendy restaurants, cocktail bars karaoke venues and the famed ladyboy cabaret shows continue to pull in the crowds too. Discotheques, nightclubs, coffee shops, open- air bars and restaurants with live music and entertainment also compete for attention in the night time mayhem that is Pattaya once the sun sets.
There are literally hundreds of go-go bars, especially in South Pattaya, Walking Street, and on both sides of Second Road. A few with names like Classroom A Go-Go (skirts,
ponytails, white socks) Lipstick A Go-Go (tequila shots, Jacuzzi room) and Tahitian Queen (thigh high boots, rock & roll) aim to draw you in, but they end up looking exactly the same.
There are plenty of girls, shows and bar games. A ‘bar fee’ is required to escort the young lady (usually between 300 – 600 baht), then for what, and how much you pay, is between the two of you. Drinks are usually around 100 baht (beer, shot, or mixer) and admission is free.
Pattaya is the hub of the best, the coolest, and the trendiest of pubs, bars and lounges. Leading by example is the world- famous Hard Rock Café in North Pattaya, where visitors can choose from six bars and restaurants. The beach foam parties on its man-made beach by the pool on
weekends are not to be missed. Or step into the coolest bar at Ice Bar, where chilled drinks and funky tunes are served at the lowest temperature in town.
Some would argue there’s nothing better than enjoying a game of football while drinking beer at the Irish pub Kilkenny (Walking Street), or at the Pig and Whistle (Soi 7). Beer bars can be found all over Pattaya, but the ones in Pattaya Beach, Second Road, along the way to Jomtien Beach and at Jomtien itself are the most popular.
The very first ladyboy cabaret show in Southeast Asia, Tiffany’s is also the most famous cabaret show in Pattaya, and the longest-running show of its kind in the world. Meet the clones of Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, or Barbara Streisand.
Let these professional performers entertain you with their impressive repertoire that includes glitzy song-and-dance routines in fabulous costumes, and comic impersonations. With more than 30 years’ experience in show business, these ‘ladies’ provide visitors with world-class and memorable performances. (Shows daily at 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30).
Pattaya caters well to its rainbow culture. Muscle boys, bikers, boy toys and lady boys strut their stuff at gay bars and go-go joints centred around Boyz Town (Soi Pattaya Land 1 and 3). Additionally, there is a more private and quieter area just off the strip at Sunee Plaza where the bars put up exclusive shows nightly.
There are also several gay bars for locals and smaller venues with ladyboy shows that welcome all and provide a lot of entertainment. Star-Tref Travestie (Jomtien Complex) is a long-time favourite.
Staying Near Walking Street
There are so many hotels and resorts located on or around Walking Street so it’s not hard to find somewhere to stay. If you plan to stay a bit further away from Walking Street, you can easily get transportation to Walking Street, as the transportation here is really good and cheap.
If you are a single male and are in Pattaya to party and pick up women, then it is highly recommended to stay in a guest friendly hotel, which doesn’t charge joiner fees – Guest Friendly Hotels in Pattaya Located Right Next to Walking Street
Go Go Bars
Even thought the restaurants of Pattaya are very popular, the go go bars and night clubs are the real attraction and there are so many of these, that you couldn’t possibly see them all in one holiday. There are said to be around 70 odd go go bars in the Walking Street area and the side Soi’s which join it and these are the most raunchy go go bars that you will find anywhere in the world by far. It is not uncommon to see fully naked women in these go go bars and women who wear very little, with g – strings, high heels, fishnets and suspenders the norm.
Most of the go go bars in Pattaya have similar setups with sexy Thai women dancing around poles on stages with seating which goes all around the stages and an area where the women get naked in a spa or a small blow up pool and sponge each other down with soapy water.
You will know when you are out the front of a go go bar, as there will be many women standing out the front – trying to lure you inside. There are too many bars to mention, but some of the most popular are the Airport Club, Fahrenheit, Alcatraz and Baccara.
Go go bars aren’t the only place to pick up women, there are many small bars known as beer bars and these are very small bars which are usually in a complex which has many other bars that are the same size and have no walls surrounding them. The bars are almost always open air with a roof that covers the whole complex and they also have sexy Thai women working in them to try and attract male customers to drink at their bars. Beer bars will mostly have cheaper drinks than the go go bars, but there is no naked women
dancing, just scantily clad women dancing around poles on the bar. It’s much cheaper to bar fine the women at beer bars then go go bars, but the women aren’t quite as beautiful on the average as the typical go go dancer.
There are said to be over 1000 beer bars in Pattaya, so they wont be hard to find and there many of them located on the water side of Walking Street. You can’t miss them as you are walking past, as the complexes that they are in, are huge and all lit up with thumping music coming out of them.
Pattaya has many night clubs and the majority of these can be found on Walking Street, so if you are into the night life action of Pattaya, then Walking street is the place to be for clubbing.
The popular nightclub – Insomnia is located here which is one of the most popular night clubs in all of Thailand and is one of the best places to pick up freelancers in Pattaya. Downstairs to Insomnia is iBar and this is also the place to be for freelancers.
The other popular nightclubs are Lucifier and Marine Disco and like most nightclubs in Pattaya, they are good for picking up freelancers. Any single male will feel like a king walking through any one of these clubs, as they are packed with Thai women who are looking to pick up.
Bars and clubs are not the only attractions of Walking Street, there are many restaurants here with the majority of them being seafood restaurants. Most of the seafood restaurants on the water side of Walking Street have outdoor areas which have fantastic views of the ocean and the lights of Pattaya and these restaurants are very popular all year round. There are also floating seafood restaurants which are basically big boats that have been converted into huge restaurants and these can be accessed from a pier which is located at the far end of Walking Street.
There are Italian, Thai and many other kinds of restaurants on Walking Street to suit ones eating needs, so there is plenty of choice. There are also many mobile food vendors which set up shop on the street once it gets dark and they are dirt cheap and some of the food they sell is quite decent.
